She Loved This Place
“She Loved This Place”, the old man said slowly strolling on a warm, spring afternoon. “I come here to remember because it feels like her”. That is the power of art. We are all the sum of our memories and I create imagery to spark them. Somewhere in this catalog of work is an image that will touch a special memory for you. Fine Art has forever aimed to immortalize a moment, a feeling, an emotion, so that it can be relived and remembered. I chose to capture “She Loved This Place” in infrared rather than using traditional optical light. It gives this scene an other-worldly feel in a gentle way. I hope you enjoy it.

Infrared photography captures light that is outside of what you and I see naturally. It is most intense when seen in full and bright sunny days with lots of foliage. Living flora most often records in bright white tones giving grass, trees and shrubs a dream-like quality. For all of my work, I only print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic paper, one of the most exquisite and expensive in the world. The metallic particles embedded in the coating of the paper, along with it’s remarkable yet subtle texture, gives the print a shimmering dimensionality that is almost magical.
